About

Middle Child Reviews is run by me, a twenty-something year-old Publicist, Sandra Garcia.

I’ve always had an interest in language and visual art, having published my first article at the age of 8, and written my first poem at 9.  I graduated from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in English Literature and Film Studies, where I discovered a passion for film and helped to create the first Vancouver Student Film Festival in 2005, which later became the Vancouver Short Film Festival in 2009. After a few years working at a PR firm and doing freelance work, I launched Middle Child Marketing in early 2008.

Having written many reviews on Yelp since 2009, I decided to create Middle Child Reviews, a sister site to Middle Child Marketing, to share stories on the wide-ranging cultural, entertainment, and event scene in Vancouver, and recommend great products and services to readers. I enjoy running, yoga, film, vegetarian and vegan food, local and eco-friendly fashion, reading wellness books, and eating cupcakes, among other desserts.
