Mr. Pickwick’s Fish & Chips

My boyfriend and I have driven by Mr. Pickwick’s Fish & Chips many times from Richmond to Vancouver, in the Granville-Marpole area. We finally decided to stop by for late dinner. Even though we ordered at 8:40 and they closed at 9pm, they allowed us to stay past closing time to finish so that we could have a good experience and wouldn’t have to take out the food.

I love that on the counter they put up a sign that said “Sorry we can’t participate in the recession, we’re too busy serving our customers and growing our business.” SO true! I loved reading some optimism about the recession for a change – Mr. Pickwick’s might be one of those lucky businesses that has been doing even better than before the recession.

I ordered a 2-piece cod (Friday special) and asked for yam fries instead of regular fries and both were SO good… the yam fries came with an especially yummy honey dijon dip that reminded me of the sauce you can get at Fritz’s poutine house.
